Proofing Options

To ensure your order is exactly as you intended, Printing Green requires proof approval. We offer the following options:

  1. 1. Soft PDF Proof via email (Free)
  2. 2. Hard Copy, Inkjet Proof (Costs Range depending on product)

Please read below to determine which proofing option best fits your job.


PDF SOFT PROOFS

A "soft proof" is (a final high-resolution PDF of your file). Soft proofs are fast and free. Unless you have serious concerns about the color of your printed piece, we recommend choosing the soft proof option.

Please be certain that your file looks exactly as you'd like. Take a moment to check - if your file requires changes after you have processed your order, you will need to make these changes yourself and resubmit a new file - or - request our Prepress services requiring a fee ($60).


What to expect:
  • Within 1 business day of placing your order, you will receive an email with your PDF soft proof.
  • Open and review the PDF soft proof.
  • After reviewing the proof, you have 3 choices:
    1. 1. Proof approved:
      • Notify us, via email, that your proof is good to go!
      • The production turnaround time that you selected when placing your order begins NOW.
    2. 2. Proof not approved (new files to follow):
      • Inform us, via email, that you discovered a problem with your proof (typo, misspelling, etc) and that you will be sending us the new file.
      • Your order will remain in "Proof Out" status until we receive new files.
    3. 3. Proof not approved (Prepress Service Requested)
      • If you discover a problem with your proof (typo, misspelling, etc) and would like US to fix it, notify us via email explaining what changes you are requesting.
      • (Please note that you will be charged $60 for file processing, which includes the changes.)
      • Our staff will make the requested changes and email you a revised proof.

HARD PROOFS:


Please note that these Proofs are run on our digital press; color will be in (CMYK). If you have a project with subtle (PMS)color variations, and require an off-set press Proof, please contact us.

What to expect:
  • Proof is a high resolution, inkjet (CMYK) printout generated from your PDF
  • Proof is printed on standard inkjet paper
  • Proof is single-sided
  • Proof displays your crop marks to confirm settings

Overview of hard proof approval process:
  • Within 1 business day of placing your order, we will ship your hard proof via overnight delivery.
  • Attached to the proof will be a "proof approval tag" with 3 choices:
    1. 1. OK to print with no changes:
      • Sign and date the tag, and return (along with the proof) to PrintingGreen.
      • Once we receive the signed-off proof, you will receive an email confirming the approval of your proof.
      • The production turnaround time that you selected when placing your order will begin AFTER your Proof approval has been received.
      • PLEASE NOTE THAT SHIPPING TIME IS IN ADDITION TO PRODUCTION TIME!
    2. 2. Proof not approved (new files to follow):
      • Inform us, via email that you discover a problem with your proof (typo, misspelling, etc) and that you will be sending us the new file.
      • Your order will remain in "Proof Out" status until we receive new files.
      • We will send you a revised proof once we've processed your new files.
      • Please inform us whether you'd like a new Hard Proof (additional $) -or- a Soft Proof (Free).
    3. 3. Proof not approved (Prepress Service Requested)
      • If you discover a problem with your proof (typo, misspelling, etc) and would like us to fix it, notify us via email what changes you are requesting.
